After partaking of the fine dinner prepared and served by the ladies of the club, the business meeting was called to order by President E. C. Bergh. \ The secretary reported on the work of the committee of investigation of legislative proceedings. The club is taking an active interest in the bills before the state legislature and has sent in a protest against the passage .of the proposed revision of state aid for schools. The president appointed a com- mittee of two besides himself to act as a real estate committee of 'Big Lake Farmers’ club. The object of this committee is to prepare a_list of farms for sale in our immediate vicinity, prices of same, and to assist settlers in procuring accurate infor- mation about improvements, soil, prices, location, etc. The club is endeavoring to procure a speaker on the raising alfalfa in northern Minnesota for the next i regular meeting at the home of C.
