GREGUSON BROTHERS HAVE FINE POTATOES, The Greguson brothers, Theodgre | and Henry, living northeast of Kit- chie Lake have a supply of fancy Triumph $seed potatoes hard to beat| anywhere. This field of ariumphs| went 358 bushels to the acre which is 2 comment on their size and vital- ity. This crop is remarkable for its evenness and is true to type and very free from disease. These gentlemen scured a fine clean type of Burbanks al=o, noticeably free from disease. But their fancy potato crop, the va-| riety that wjll certainly be picked up by the seed men, is a yield of Early | Ohiovs. found in this bin, the field run looks as though it had been over the sort- er and there is a freedom of nobby, ill-formed potatoes seldom found in Early Ohios this year. These men have produced some fine potatoes this year and might be called | on by those interested in seed pola-i toes of a fine type. Theodore Greguson can be reached thru the Pennington postoffice. TO TAKE CENSUS OF ALL DISABLED EX-SERVICE MEN New York, Nov. started today by the 9,700 posts of the American Legion in this country on a census of all veterans of the World War who are still inmates of government and The Census is the first step of the Legion in a campaign to make life more worth living for the slch and disabled. ' A card will be made out fc) every man in hospital, giving information n his name, home address and or-| ganization with which he served. The data will be obtained by com- mittees from all Legion posts and the cards filed at national headquarters in Indianapolis. The index will be accessiible to anyone wishing to lo- cate a sick or wounded man. Under the Legion plan, every man in hospital will be visited at least once a week. Outings and entertain- ments will be organized, delicaeies and reading matter will be supplied and every man will be made to feel that a personal interest is being taken in his case. The spirit of the plan ‘is to humanijze hospitalization work. Every one {n the community | Increased Efficiency Imperative R. H. H. The picturesque ‘‘Lord {Mayor Show”—a two mile proces- !sion which annually dislocates traffic in the heart of time most congested | districts of the City of London—at- tracted the usual masses of sightseers although it is the customary thing for Londoners to shrug their should- lers and profess to regard it as a tire- some auachronlsm. ‘“‘Not worth going to see, my boy.” However no Lord Mayor has yet been bold enough to <cut out this expensive pageant and lit is certain. that all true Cockneys would protest loudly if the ancien( ]ntu"d was dropped. Lord Mayor Roll is an msurnnce company magistrate, having been managing director of the Pearl In- surance company, with which concern {he was connected fbr fifty years. The ison of a Norfolk farmer. he came to | London as a boy of fourteen, and—as he puts it himself—*“By hard work and a little luck”” he worked himself jup from the humblest position. He is |a typical Englishman of the Dicken- ' |sian style, rather ‘like the late King 'Edward in manner and appearance. | He i§ passionately fond of horses and coaching, and despite his 72 years is still a famous whip. The office of Lord Mayor is no |sinecure. Nor is it a profitable one, for although there is a salary of ten thcusand pounds for the year, the occcupant of the Mansion House gen- |erally 'has to spend four or five times that amount..as official ‘‘Host” for the City of London. The Standard Oil Company (Indxana) has been a leader in déveloping processes to increase the yield of gasoline from crude oil. ‘The best known and' most successful of its improvements is the Burton &'ocess. originated in the laboratories of the Standard Oil Company ndxm) Speaking of the Burton Process, Mr. Hill says that “since it was first installed on a commercial scale it hac produced anproxlmztely 40 million barrels of gasoline from teavy distillates, and has thus saved approximately 150 million barrels of crude that would have been necessary to produce an equivalent amount of gasoline.” ‘This vast saving has 'been accomplished without sacrificing quality. Red Crown, the motor gasoline, made and sold by the Standard Oil Company (Indiana), is acknowledged by petro- leum chemists and other authorities to be the standard fuel for motor cars. It more than meets Government specifica- tions, which require an initial of not more than 140 degrees F; 20 percent off at 221 degrees; 50 percent off at 284 degrees; 90 percent off at 374 degrees; and a dry point (complete vaporization) at not more than 437 degrees F. During' the semi-annual test conducted in July 1920, the average for Red Crown Gasoline showed an initial of 102 degrees F; 20 percent off at 210; 50 percent off at 281; 90 per- cent off at 387, and a dry point of 427 degrees F. This shows an initial 38 degrees bc‘er than Government specifications, which means easy starting; 20 percent off at 11 degrees better than Government soccifications; 50 percent off at 3 degrees better than Government specifications; and 90 per cent off 13 degrees higher than Governinent specifica- tions, which is more than made up by the 10 dcgrees ciffer- - ence in dry point. This proves that, notwithstanding the greatly increased quantity of gasoline which this Company is able to take from the crude, it has in no way sacrificed quality, and is nnother indication that the large scale operations of this Company have worked to the distinct advantage of every user of gasoline.
