Mgr., Orpheum theatre. The Journal Press of St. Cloud, comments as follows about the show seen in this city. “The Miner was packed last night by & well entertained -audience, in -the “Night in Honolulu.” The cuarac- ters were all well taken, but as no . programs were supplied, the identi- ty of the cast is still a mystery, and .special mention is not to be made. “The musieal feature was highly en- _ joyed, and the Hawaiian trio was re- -called four or five times. The scenic ..effects were good, and the dancing .« of the native dancer was very classy. >-The burning volcano was so realistic ~that the opera house was filled with :-smoke, and helped exit the audience z-4n record breaking time. The produc- tion on the whole was much better ~han some of the higher priced attrac- - tions that have recently appeared in = this oity.” - COMING TO THE REX On April 13 and 14 the Rex theatre announces the Stroheim wonder play “Blind Husbands.’ * ‘When a husband becomes neglect- ful and unloving, shall the wife at- cept the attention of another man? The story is depicted somewhat as follows. < The bestial nature of a libertine ofticer, formerly of the Austrian army, is relently exposed in *“Blind Husbands,” the Universal photo- drama of the Tyrolean Alps. The principal role is played by Eric Stroheim, former lieutenant of the Austrian army, and in ‘‘Blind Husbands” Eric Stroheim portrays the arrogance and supreme conceit that made the Teuton unfit for the cummunion of humans. As a lieutenant of the Austrian army. the starring villain goes to a fashionable resort in the Alps to prey on womankind. There he meets ‘Margaret Armstrong, wife of the fa- mous Dr.”Armstrong, who is a loved but badly .neglected wife. Dr. Armstrong makes a discovery, suspects something worse, and his soul is seared and tortured when the lieutenant lies to him. The fate of a love-buazard in the form of a man, is the theme of the story. Stroheim is remembered, even hat- ed, by thousands of people,-for his portrayal of a Hun officer in the big Universal war-picture, “The Teart of Humanity.” Supporting him in ‘Blind Husb- ands” as Margaret Armstrong, the wife, is Francelia Billington and the following cast of popular Universal players: Sam DeGrasse, H. Gibson- Gowland, Valerie Germonprez and Jack Perrin. . B SODA FOUNTAIN CHAFFEUR¢ The old story of the country majd- en who, longing for the bright lights, journeys to a New York hall bedroom with high ambitions-and a wicker suitcase, is tempted -without success, and then returns, disfllusioned, to the little rural village is given a brand new and uproariously funny twist— several of them, in fact—by vivacious’ Dorothy Gish in her latest screen farce, “Mary Ellen Comes to Town,” which appears at the Elko theatre to- night and Saturday. .
