His most notable exploit was the robbery, near this place, of an old couple named Fairbanks by torture in putting lighted candles to their feet to make them divulge the hiding place of their money. This robbery, which stirred the entire country, was com: mitted in 1880. The Fairbanks lived near Wheaton. It became known to Myers and two pals that the aged couple had a large amount of money secreted in their home. The house was-igolated. : One night after Fairbanks and his wife had retired they were awakened by Myers and his pals. Demands were made upon them for their money. but they insisted they kept no valuables in the house. After asearch that revealed nathing the robbers tied Fairbanks and his wife with ropes and then put the lighted candles to their feet. Road work on the reservation closed for the year the fore part of November, and operations had to be discontinued sooner than expected on account of unfavorable wenther. There was a great deal of work ac- complished on the reservation in the way of improving roads and repairing cuiberts, etc., the main object being the construction of a road of the ag- ency to the Outlet, which was badly reeded, and it may not be amiss to state that if the weather had permit- | ted a great deal more would have }men accomplished in this line. M’KEE, Funeral Director PHONE 178-W or R Kidney and Bladder weakness re- sult from uric acid, says a noted authority. The kidneys filter this acid from the blood and pass it on to the bladder, where it often re- mains to irritate and inflame, causing a burning, scalding sensation, or set- ting up an irritation at the neck of the bladder, obliging you to seek relief two or three times during the night. The sufferer is in constant dread, the water passes sometimes with a scalding sensation and is very profuse; again, there is difficulty in avoiding it. . Bladder weakness, most folks call it, because they can’t control uring- tion. While it is extremely annoy- ing and some times very painful, this is really one of the most simple ail- ments to overcome. Get about four ounces of Jad Salts from your phar- macist and take a tablespoonful in a glass of water before breakfast, con- tinue this for two or three days. This will neutralize the acids in the urine so it no longer is a source of irritation to the bladder and urin- ary organs which then act normally again. Jad Salts is inexpensive, harmless, and is made from the acid ‘of grapes and lemon juice, combined . with lithia, :and is used by thousands of folks who are subject to urinary disorders caused by uric acid irrita-; tion. Jad Salts is splendid for kid- neys and causes no bad effects what- ever. Here you have a pleasant, efferves- cent lithia-water drink, which quick- ly relieves bladder truoble.
