N. D. IN SPECIALS. Grand Forks, N. D., Nov., 28— ‘Four special trains carrying farmers and farm specialties to the Interna- tional Live Stock show in Chicago left the state today, starting from here, Wahpeton, Hankinson, and Fargo. The farmers will spend to- morrow in the Twin Cities and ar- rive in Chicago Sunday. Departure of these trains recalls “the special that went .from the state to the Tivestock show three years ago. “Some wag in the party caused it to "be adwertised that the farmers were mostly wealthy North Dakota bache- “lors, seeking wives among the Chica- :go girls to take back to their ranches. As a result leading members of the party ;were deluged by letters and ‘notes from would-be brides of the North Dakota farmers, asking oppor- tunities to meet the young men, a number of marriages resulted. JAPAN IS DRAFTING PROHIBITION MEASURE (By United Press.) Tokio (By Mail.)—Secretary Tago «of the home office is engaged in «drafting a drastic prohibition bill that will be laid before the forthcom- ing session of the diet. The bill would prohibit drinking of liquor by men avd women under 25 yezrs of age. This s the first time the govern- ment has looked with favor on a ten- nerance measure, althougi: similar measures have been introducei from year to year by Nemotn, a member of the diet, and an ardent christian. The need of conserving rice has caused the peers to favor limiting the -drinking of sake. The bill probably will make an exception in case of the time-honored custom of drinking sake at wedding ceremonies. TURN HAIR DARK WITH SAGE TEA If Mixed With Sulphur Darkens So Naturally Nobody Can Tell It The old-time mixture of Sage Tea :and Sulphur for darkening gray, streaked and faded hair is grand- mother’s recipe, and folks are again using it to keep their hair a good, even color, which is quite sensible, -as we are living in an age when a youthful appearance is of the great- -est advantage. Nowadays, though, we don’t have the troublesome task of gathering the sage and the mussy mixing at home. -All drug stores sell the ready-to-use product, improved by the addition of other ingredients, called “Wyeth’s Sage and Sulphur Compound.” It is very popular «discover it has been applied. Simply moisten your comb or a soft brush with it and draw this through your hair, taking one small strand at a time; by morning the gray hair dis- appears, but what delights the ladies ; with Wyeth’s Sage and Sulphur Com- pound, is that, besides beautifully ;darkening the hair after a few ap- [ plications, it also produces that soft lustre and appearance of abundance which is so attractive. - - ! —————————————————— MUSICAL INSTRUMENTS Planos, Organs, Sewing Machines 614 Minnesota Ave., Bemidji Phone §73-W J. F. Wald- hier, living at 1012 Wall St., Milwau- kee, Wis., the other day. “This may sound like a very broad statement,” continued Mrs. Wald- hier, “but it is so, for I never got the least benefit from all the other medicines I took and after taking Tanlac I feel like a new woman,” Continuing she said: “I have suffered with stomach trouble ‘more or less all my life. I had a poor appetite and could scarce- ly eat a thing without it nearly kill- ing me, and especially for the last few months, when I could eat only the lightest food. Everything I did manage to eat would sour on my stomach and gas would form and I would be bloated something awful. The gas would press up against my heart so I could hardly breathe and I would feel like I was choking. I never knew what it was to be without a headache, and I had severe pains almost continually in my right side .and shoulders. I lost so much weight 1 was scarcely more than a frame, and was so weak I could hardly do my housework. I was so nervous 1 could sleep but very little at night, and would get up in the morning com- pletely worn out. “I saw in the newspapers where Tanlac had been of such benefit to ,others whose condition was described as being similar to mine so I con- cluded to try it. Well, it surely was what I needed, for after taking only four bottles my stomach is all right and I have such a fine appetite I eat anything I want and I never suffer the least bit afterwards. I am not bothered with gas or bloating any more and the smothering and chok- ing spells have disappeared. I haven’t had the headache since I began tak- ing Tanlac, and the pain in my side and shoulders are things of the past. My nerves are in fine condition, and I sleep all night long without wak- ing up once, and get up in the morn- ings feeling refreshed. In fact, I never felt as well before in my life, and I will never miss a chance to say a good word for Tanlac.” Tanlac is sold in Bemidji by the City Drug Store, in Kelliher by Mrs. R. Sterling, in Blackduck by French & Moon, and in Baudette by J. Williams. H. C. Keep your kidneys clean like you keep your bowels clean, by flushing them with a mild, harmless salts while removes the body’s urinous waste and stimulates them to their normal activity. The function of the kidneys is to filter the blood. In 24 hours they strain from it 500 grains of acid and waste, so we can readily understand the vital importance of keeping the kidneys active. Drink lots. of water—you can’t drink too much; also get from any pharmacist about four ounces of Jad Salts; take a tablespoonful in a glass of water before breakfast each morn- ing for a few days and your kidneys will act fine. This famous salts is made from the acid of grapes and lemon juice, combined with lithia, and has been used for generations to clean and stimulate clogged kidmeys; also to neutralize the acids in urine so it no longer is a source of irrita- tion, thus ending bladder weakness. Jad Salts is inexpensive; cannot in- jure; makes a delightful effervescent lithia-water drink which everyone should take now and then to keep their kidneys clean and active. Try this, also keep up the water drink- ing, and no doubt you will wonder what became of your kidney trouble and backache. Jump from Bed in Morning and Drink Hot Water Tells why everyone should drink hot water each morning before breakfast. To see the healthy bloom in your face, to see your skin get clearer and clearer, to wake up without a head- ache, backache, coated tongue or a nasty breath, in fact to feel your best, day in and day out, just try inside bathing every morning for a week. Before breakfast each day, drink a glass of real hot water with a tea- spoonful of limestone prosphate in it as a harmless means of washing from the stomach, liver, kidneys and bowels the previous day’s indigestible waste, sour bile and toxins, thus cleansing, sweetening and purifying the entire alimentary canal before putting more food into the stomach. Th hot water and limestone phosphate on an empty stomach is wonderfully invigorating. It cleans out all the sour fermentations, gases and acidity and gives one a fine appetite for breakfast. A quarter pound of limestone phos- phate will cost very little at the drug store, but is sufficient to demonstrate that those who are subject to consti- pation, bilious attacks, acid stomach, rheumatic twinges or whose skin is sallow or pallid, that one week of inside bathing will have them look- ing and feeling better every way.
