CROP WAS WHOPPER (Baudette Region.) About fifty tons of clover seed have been shipped form this section during the last ten days, and be- tween thirty and forty thousand dol- lars have been paid to farmers who grew it. Thirty-five tons were ship- ped from Baudette this week, buyers from the Northup Co. and the Fari- bauit Seed Co. taking it. Fifteen tons have been shipped from Williams, and there is much clover to be threshed, both at Williams and Bau- dette, and the total figures will run close to one hundred thousand dol- This feature of farm production was started only a year or so ago in this district, and is still in it§ in- fancy, but the figures mentioned above give some indication of what wili happen in the next few years. The farmers averaged from $150 to $275 an acre above all expenses on. the clover seed, which isn’t. bad for cheap land—or at least land that can‘be purchased cheap. < BAI]DE’I'I'E CLOVER SEED GAlNEY IS CAPTAIN . - OF HAMLINE'S.
