Shevlin, Nov. 12—G. F. Scott qf the town of Dudley was a Bemidji visitor Monday. Charles McDonald, Carl Rank, John Desjardines and Ernest Boe went to Bemidji Monday evening to take in the Hawaiian concert. John Skarolid arrived here Tues- day to visit the rest of the_week with his parents here. John is em- ployed as a brakeman on the local freight. e Egnest Boe arrived here the latter part of last week for an extended visit with his brother, Alfred Boe, north of Shevlin. 3 - Mr. Haugen of McIntosh arrived here Friday. Mr. Haugen is a brother of Mrs. Rank and is here for an extended visit with her. Mr. Cartwright of Bagley was a visitor here Saturday. . Mrs. J. R. Holton, accompamed.bg her daughter, Cecil, were Bemldn. visitors between trains Wednesday. Ludvig Holum has recently ac- cepted the position as jaritor in our local ‘school. Mr. Holum held this same position last winter and every one is glad to hear of his undertak- ing the same job this wintef. Mr. Holum is a worker and helps to keep the school in as good a condition as it is possible for him to do in his position. ki Al Gordon was a Bemidji visitor ‘Wednesday. Mrs. Bredeson went to McIntosh Wednesday. While ‘there Mrs. Bred- eson will receive medical attention and visit with friends.: a Mrs. T. E. Mrs. Kennith = Mckinnin arrived here Thursday from Whapeton, N. D., to visit with the Fritchie family of this place. Mrs. Mckinnin is Mr. Fritchie’s sister. Hector Brown spent several hours heré Thiirsday on his way from Bag- ley to Bemidji. The bride was attended by Miss Albina DeMarais and Henry L. Watsworth was best man. Mrs. Deal, formerly Miss Alma Wethern, is well known in this vicinity, having lived here all her life with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Dave Wethern. The Shevlin people join in wishing the couple much happiness. Greer and little daugh- ter arrived here Wednesday evening from New York en .route to her home near Debs. Mr. and Mrs. Henry Sletten of Larimore, N. D., arrived here Thurs- day to spend the winter with Mrs. Sletten’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. H. L. Welo. C. A. Bye took his little son Stanley to Bemidji Wednesday to have his collar bone set, which he broke last Friday by falling from a ‘chair. He seems to be getting along nicely at present. Mr. and Mrs. Carl Peterson, Clara Bakke and T. B. Gelen returned from a visit with friends and relatives at: Clearbrook Friday. Mr. andi Mrs., K. K. The dance given by the Helgeson boys at the Town hall Saturday even- ing--was-well attended and all report a good time. Lee Simes of Solway took in the dance Saturday evening at the hall and spent Sunday visiting friends here. Miss Elaine Boyd of Bemidji was a Pinewood visitor Saturday and Sunday. Harry Lindgren and bride arrived here Friday for a visit with his par- ents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles/Lindgren. They entertained a large number of friends in the evening and received many presents. We all wish them a long and happy married life. Mrs. Gust Smith, Mrs. Louis Tyner, Olof Gelen, H. L. Webb and son Ruben, were Bemidji visitors Monday. The seventh and eighth grades hiked out to Eldevik’s farm Thurs- day afternoon.’ There was no school on account of furnace trouble. The afternoon was spent in playing games.
