PAGE TWO THE BEMIUJI DAILY PIONEER Pioneer’s Candidates - Begin the New Week With Inspiring Rush N’ow Is an Opportune Time for Late Starters and New Candi- dates to Start Winning C ampaign—This Week Im- portant to All Candidates—Vote Scale Allow- ance Decrease After This Period The manner in which the candi- dates in the Pioneer campaign began the present week with a rush was inspiring for Saturday a continual stream of callers came to the cam- paign headquarters of The Pioneer, while the mails brought a greater batch of letters than usual. It speaks volumes for the determination these candidates are displaying and fore- shadows a great victory for the ear- nest ones. This campaign is rapidly develop- ing into the biggest affair of the year, and . numbers of sensational spurts are expected before the end of the week. The 200,000 club offer is stirring up great enthusiasm. It will be the stepping stone for many of the candidates from the very bot- tom to dominant positions among the leaders, and the means of se- Two Years—$3.00; votes allowed, 3,000. They are good at any time. This is also true of the regular votes issued on new and old subscrip- tions. In some cases it is perhaps a good idea to keep a substantial num- ber of votes back in order to make use of them at such times when the melgets to be a littlg faster than usual. _ Why a' Reserve. Like every big financial institu- tion, every great nation, every great business, it is sometimes essential to have a reserve on hand. A bank maintains a reserve in order to draw upon it when the need arises. The nation has its military and naval re- serve, and the business houses have their monetary reserve to liquidate obligations when they can not realize from other sources. And so it is with candidates in this campaign. A reserve is a necessary adjunct to any successful enterprise; it should be a part of the campaign work of every candidate, for a reserve fund of votes can be drawn upon when the need of making a good showing arises. This does not mean, though, that subscriptions should be withheld, for these should be brought in as they are secured. Candidates will receive their votes--ballots promptly. When a.candidate is informed by a p;rson “fror;‘;l w};lom a subscriptign is obtained, that the paper is not-beir 'deliv'é'red regularly, or fails to sh:v'gv' up at all, complaint should be made to the.circulation department of The Pioneer. A notification to that de- partment will insure a speedy rati- fication of errors and bring the pape: promptly. 9 Keep Posted. Every issue of The Pioneer should be read carefully by the candidates, for in the news columns, appearing daily, events of the campaign andl many suggestions are offered, and points clarified, that will enable can- didates to pursue their efforts with a, clear understanding of all their; phases. > How the Prizes Will Be Awarded. 1.
