Crumbly has just re- turned from France where he was chaplain of the 601st engineers. - He had-been visiting in Spokane, Wash., for some time and was on his way to Missouri. ON EXTENDED-MOTOR ‘TRIP. C. A. Newgard and son Arthur of New Richland, Minn., arrived in the city Thursday, and. are the guests of Mr. Newgard’s sister, Mrs. I. B. Ol- son and family. . Before coming to Bemidji they looked after their land interests near Fargo. The trip was made by motor as far as Solway but upon reaching that village they found a bridge washed out and had to. leave . the. car. there.and come to Bemidji by rail. ~Mr. Newgard’s mother and daughter are also guests at the I. B. Olson home, having-ar- rived-several .days:ago. A BOOST FOR: BEMIDJI. ‘Mr. and Mrs. H. C. Wood, and.son Francis-arrived- home last night from a weeks trip to Bemidji, Minn., where they were. guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Wood's daughter, Mrs. B. W. Aldrich. They made the journey in their new- automobile, returning over a distance of 300 miles in a single day. Mr. Wood said the part of Minnesota, through which they drove, is out for good roads.in earn- est and accomplishing splendid. re- sults. All the trails are well grad- ed, graveled and plainly marked, he said.
