He returned from France two weeks ago where he had been in the service for six months. " Representative A. E. Rako re- turned to his legislative duties at St. Paul this morning, after having vassed the week-end in Bemidji with his family and attending to business matters. Mrs, Charles E. Battles returned Saturday afternoon from Coleraine where she visited her son Leon for a'week. He is employed as civil en- gineer for the Oliver Mining .com- pany of ,that city. Mrs. Emma Stewart and daughter, Capitola Stewart, are moving, to their home at 920 Desey avenue. They have spent the winter months with Mrs. Stewart’s son, Scott T. Stewart, at 1019 Bemidji avenue. While Mrs. Lawrence Soland and little daughter of Wilton were visit- ing relatives at Trail, the: little girl was taken ill with pneumonia and is too sick to be moved. Another child left at home was also taken ill dur- ing the mother's absence. The remains of Mrs. Dick Burtrom of Burlington, Ia., daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Sam Hayth of town of Northern, have been sent to Brain- erd where the funeral will be held tomorrow afternoon at 3 o'clock. Mrs. Burtrom died from pneumonia the latter part of last week. Her mother went to Burlington as soon as she learned of her daughter’s ill- ness and was with her at the time of her death. Garry Brennan, formerly a mem- ber of the Bemidji police force and driver of the fire truck, and who dur- ing the winter was night captain of the guard at the Stillwater-amimuni- tion factory, the old state prison, is in the city.
