LIGHTNING HITS GIANT PINE IN COURT YARD During the heavy rain Tuesday night, accompanied by a brilliant electrical display, a heavy bolt of lightning “descended upon a giant White Pine tree in the morth part of the front lawn of the court house grounds, and tore three long gashes in the trunk, starting near the top. The bolts ripped off the bark and in two places knocked holes in the ground, one of which was about a foot in depth. The tree has been quite a curiosity throughout the day. ATTENDS CONFERENCE.
