Carried. t was moved, geconded and carried, that the applications of the Towns of Bemidji and Myhre be laid on the table, It was' moved by Hayes, seconded by Imsdahl, that Commissioners Rako and Ellis -be. appointed a committee, to in- spect the Bridge No. 1735 on the State Rural Highway No. 62, to meet at the Bridge on August 12th at 11 a..m, Carried. It was moved by Lennon, seconded by Hayes, that Commissioners Rako and Ellis' be appointed a committee to in- spect Bridge No. 965, on State Road No. 2, to meet at the bridge at 1:00 P. M, July 9th, and report to the Board on the same day. Carried. Recess was taken to 1:30 p. m., when the Board reconvened, with all members present. . X It was moved by Lennon, seconded by Hayes, and unanimously carried, that the question of changing the system of caring for the poor in this county from the Town system to the County system, be submitted to the voters of the Coun- ty at the next General election to be held in’ November 1918. The petition of J. E. Lane, et al,, pray- ing for_the establishment of a new Schoel District 'in the Town of Big Grass,-was presented. It was 'moved by Hayes, seconded by Ilssda.hl, that hearing on said petition bé set for Wednesday, August 14th at 2:00 p. m. arried / The petition of Albert Chilgren et al praying for the establishment of a County Road in - Towns 157-158-159, Ranges 33 and 34, was presented. It was moved by Lennon, seconded by Hayes, that hearing be set for August 14th at 2:30 p. m., and that Commission- ers Rako and Imsdahl ‘be appointed a committee to- view_the route of said road, to meet at thé beginning of road at the Northwest corner of Town 159- 34, at 1:00 p. m., August 6th, and report at next meeting. Carried. “The-following resolution was offered and moved for adoption by Commission- er Lennon: Whereas, the cost of living has in- creased to nearly double that of two years ago, an Whereas, it is imposible for the Coun- ty Auditor to retain sufficient experi-|g enced help at the former low salaries, to do the necessary work in his office, i three of his most efficient clerks having | § resigned to accept more remunerative positions, Now be it resolved, that the sum of Fiften Hundred Dolars ($1,500) or so much thereof as may be necessary, be|§ set aside from-the General Revenue fund for the purpose of paying such addi- tional clerkhire in the County Audit- or’s office as may be necessary for the year 1918, provided that same is ap- proved by the Attorney General and the Pyblic Examiner. The motion being- seconded by Com- missioner Ellis, was put to a vote and duly carried. The petition of Henry Brechner, et al., praying for the establishment of a county road from the Town of Waskish to the Town of Birch Island, was pre- sented. It was moved by Hayes, seconded by Imsdahl, that hearing be set for Aug- ust 14th, at 3:00 P. M., and Commission- ers Lennon and Ellis be appointed a committee -to view the proposed road, to meet at the Chippewa Trading Co.’s store, in the Town of Waskish, at noon on_August 6th. Carried.
