It is a Chaplin Jingle, car- rying the title of ‘“Chase Me.Charlie,” i and is-a British version of Chaplin’s funniest films, taken-from -the -fam- ous Essanay-Chaplin comedies. The picture is so skillfully- assem- bled, it makes a smooth running feature, the various parts dovetailing. perfectly. Miss Purviance appears throughout, being the girl with whom Chaplin is madly in love, and whom he pursues through many vicissi- tudes, finally winning her. This monkey, “Peppekin,” is the pet of Mrs. Alice Woolworth (play- ed by Eva Gordon), whose valuable jewels are stolen, and around which incident of the story much of the action revolves.
