It is _hereby made the duty of all owners of land or Jots adjoining any street or avenue “in said Vllln§ to construct, re-construct and maintain In good repair, sidewalks along _the gtreet or avenue next to the land of guch owner, a8 may have been hereto- fore constructed, or shall hereafter be constructed or directed by the village council to be built and of such mater- ial and width and width, and upon such place and grade as the village council may direct. Sec. 2. The grade of all sidewalks ghall be an ascending one, one and one- fourth inches to the foot, commencing 4t the outer edge or ourb thereof, and all crossings shall be not less than three feet wide, built upon grade and of such thnterlnl as the village council may di- ec Sec. 3. Whenever the village council shall deem it necessary to construct or re-construct any sidewalk in the Village df Solway it shall, by resolution, direct such construction or re-construction, specifying the width thereof and the aterial of which same is to bhe con- ucted and shall cause the grade there- of to be given by, some competent engi- neer and shall cause the ground upon which said sidewalk is to be built to be properly graded. No person within said Village shall sell or offer for sale at public auc- tion in said Village any goods, chattels or personal property upon any sidewalk 80 as to cause a crowd to collect thereon and interfere with the free passage and travel thereon. Sec. 9. No person shall push, drive or draw_ any carriage, cart, wagon or other vehicle, nor drive any horse, mule or other animal or automobile over any sidewalk, unless on a suitable crossing or other means of access thereto, pro- vided, however, that such crossing or means of access to any building, lot or enclosure shall at all times be kept in proper repair by the owner thereof, and no person shall ride any bicycle, tri- cycle or any-animal upon the sidewalks of said village nor coast thereon with any sleigh, sled, bob, toboggan or other contrivance. Sec. 10.
