. NATIONAL PARTY TO MAKE BOW APRIL 19 Minneapolis, Apri’l 10.—The new | national party is expected to'make its tow in Minnesota April 19, when the .prohibitionists of the state meet in ! 'a special state convention to change their party name. Call for the meet- ing was'announced today by the pro- ‘hibition 'state committée, and is a “change of date, April 9 having been gelected “first. The convention meets ‘at the West hotel Friday, April 19, at 9 a. m. Prohibition leaders said there is|- no doubt about the action of the con- vention. Of the 30 members of the state committee, -26 signed the call for the meeting, and 14 of the 16}- delegates from Minnesota to the re-| - cent prohibition national convention in ‘'Chicago voted to merge with the national party. By co-operation of a two-thirds rule the merger failed to carry in the prohibition national convention,-but nearly all of the Minnesota dele- gates took part in the natfonal party convention which was on at the same time. The national party is also being re- cruited from the remnant of the pro- gressive party, from the loyal ele- ‘ment of the socialists, amd from other groups of political- independ- ents.
