It is noteworthy, the number of business men who are now willing to allow their names to go before the voters of Bemidji as their servants in public life, and that they are the kind desired is plainly evident from results at the ballot boxes. : Time was when a business man or man of affairs would shun becom- ing a candidate on account of the machinations of a lot of sub-sea goers, and threats and coercion were the lot of several who even dared to exer- cise their perogative of coming out to represent the best interests of their communities. It was considered practically lese majeste on the part of a few that any such attempt at betterment of civic government should be made, but today those who would believe that the souls of the voters of Bemidji are not their own are migh ty insignificant. Bemidji has to set her house in order and is doing so gradually. She has a big task before her, as past history will reveal, but with sound business sense and a square deal, coupled with ideals that are not be- emirched by toleration of a privileged few, Bemidji will come into her own and justly claim her title as “The City of Enterprise.” DENTISTS DR. There hasn’t been an instance when he was not “in the game” for whatever Bemidji has promoted to aid Minnesota in her work of the war and has pushed hard for Bemidji to make . the [ __DR.H A NORTHROP | OSTEOPATHIC PHYSICIAN AND SURGEON Ibertson Bldg.
