M s _Attorney. 7t Sat. 1 lgfllj 5 RESOLUTION NO. 119, At a regular_ meeting of the council of the City of Bemidji, the 26th day of November, 1917. ln the council chambers in the City hall in said city at 8 o'clock p. m., Alderman Lahr offered the following resolution, and moved its adoption: ‘Whereas, there exists in the Cit: Bemidji a band which has nm‘:enre numerous public occasions in publlc places, and furnished music free of charge, and thereby provided musical entertainment to the public, and made patriotic gatherings greater successes than thel}; otherwise would have been; And whereas, the aforesaid band is a credu to the city and should be encour- aged And whereas, such band is in need of fundts for new music and other equip- men! Now, therefore, be it resolved by the city council of the City of Bemidji that the sum of $200 be appmprlated out of the general fund of such city for the|dry, use of such band, and that a warrant be issued and delivered to the leader of such_band in such sum, it being under- stood that such ap})rowiauon is made and such warrant issued so as to en- able such band to continue to furnish music at such public gatherings as may be had in the future, especially patriot- ic gatherings. The foregoing motion being seconded by Alderman Joanis, the resolution was put upon its passage, and an Aye and Nay vote being taken, the following aldermen _voted = Aye—Lahr, Bagley, Phillippi, Hazen, Larson, Smith, Joanis, and the following voted Nay—none. The city attorney was directed to draw necessary resolution appropriat- ing not to exceed §100 for municipal Shristmnfl tree and Christmas dona- ons. Police department was instructed to have an officer, if any on duty, in the Fifth ward, ring the curfew bell at the required time. Application of Louis Olsted for cigar- ette license was granted on motion and second. Moved by Alderman Lahr, that the city clerk of the City of Bemidji be instructed to !pl‘e]mre and publish a notice calling for bids for the purchase of the bonds of the City of Bemidji in the sum of $25,000 heretofore voted to be issued by such city for the purpose of defraying the cost and expense of constructing the bridge across the Mis- sissippi river, connecting an extension of Bemidjl avenue with the Nymore road, all within such city. That such notice be published once in every week for_three successive weeks in the Be- midji Pioneer, a daily newspaper printed and published and circulated in the City of Bemidji, and once in each week for three successive weeks in the St. Paul Pioneer-Press, a daily news- paper printed, published and circulated in_the City of St. Paul, Minnesota.
