BEMIDJI DAILY PIONEER ’ Coming Events October 29—Special election for Issuing of bonds to pay for bridge and city hall. October 30—Adjourned session of Beltrami county district court. November 6—Meeting of board’ of county commissioners. November 15-16-17--Bemidji Poul- try and Potato show. December 6-7—Annual meeting of the Northern Minnesota Develop- ment association and potato show. SOCIETY M. E. AID TOMORROW At the meeting of the M. E. La- dies Aid saciety tomorrow afternoon in the basement of the church, the semi-annual election of officers will be held and the various reports for the past six months read. A large attendance is desired. HOSTESSES TO AID Mesdames Aubolee and Krogen will entertain the Ladies’ aid society of the First Scandinavian Lutheran church tomorrow afterroon at. 2:30 o’clock in the church basement. It is urged that a large attendance be present as definite plans will be made for the supper and sale to be held in the church parlors October 31. GERMAN MUSIC STUDIED In order to have the use of a piano the Woman’s Study club met at the home of Mrs. C. G. Johnson of Dewey avenue yesterday afternoon instead of at the library. The topic for the day was “German Music.” After the roll call, which was responded to by giving current events in musie, the following program was carried out: 1. Five Minutes Talks: (a) Mozart, (b) Frederick Handel, (¢c) Johann Sebastian Arnold.Mrs. F. S: Arnold . 2. Comparison of Handel and Bach, (ten minutes)..Mrs. A. G. Wedge ‘ 3. Selection from Handel, Bach and Mozart .... ... Mrs. C. W. Jewett and Mrs. C. G: Johnson ptayed a duet “Margo” by Handel and Mrs. C..G. Johnson played the following selections: “Fantasia E. Sonata” by Mozart “Loure” by Bach, “Minuet” Movart’s fir.¢ composi- ¥ T tion! At the time he composed this he was but five years old.
