But the tourist and receration guest have gone—most of them. & E Bemidjl has had a wonderful summer in many ways. And to the _a_.__—-————g Jefterson Highway can be attributed the major part of the visitors. In ,fact it was the highway that accounted for Bemidji having the largest number of summer visitors in its history. Tourists by the hundreds came by auto; they came and they stayed. Tourists from far distant states came. And they were astonished to find such a little metropolitan city where they expected an unpolished north woods town. And they will be back again. . ! Birchmont hotel and resort enjoyed a wonderful season. It was .packed continually, in fact turned away a large volume of business on ;many occasions. Its fame has spread to other states and the coming of the summer guests has also had its effect upon heralding Bemidji’s fame. It has been a wonderful summer for Bemidji. It has been a.good .summer gnd..Bemidji has been greatly benefitted in many ways, with ,much more in the future as a result. | DR. E. H. The hours are from 7 to 9 o’clock. The new Lincoln achool is in the Fifth ward and when the estimates were.made for the erection of this splendid structure the prices were in|] - many instances almost half as much as they are now. With the letting of the contract with the money available, the board decided to build the .school as originally planned and finish five of the rooms, the same number in the old school, thus making a saving. The saving of the room space would also allow one less boiler fo be purchased. But the rooms figured upon are inadequate for the accommodation of the children and many of them are now attending school in the old build- ing. While the contractor is on the job it is the desire to finish the building completely and not leave work to be done later. It is simply good business and should be done, EI A 000 A DRAY_ AND TRANSFER S ' gafe and Piano:Moving ° 818 America Res. Phone 68 ' Office.
