Theodore Nordale last evening by the members and friends of the Swedish Lutheran church in the church parlors. Rev. Nordale has occupied the pulpit during his vaca- tion this summer. The church was tastily decorated with autumn leaves. On behalf of the congregation and other friends of the pastor, he was presented with a large purse. Rev. Nordale will leave this week for Min- neapolis where he will visit his par- ents before returning to Rock Island, Il1l., where he will finish his studies at the theological seminary this year. MEETING POSTPONED On account of the patriotic meet- ing the Red Cross circle of the Pres- byterian church will not hold the meeting which was advertised for Thursday. The date has been changed to Friday afternoon when Mrs. J. J. McLaughlin and Mrs. P. Barnell will entertain the circle at the McLaughlin home, 213 Irvine avenue south. The meeting will open at 2:30 o’clock. All the ladies are cordially invited to attend.
