Diligence will be used by the fair officers to prevent injury to the exhibits, and a night watch will guard the grounds; but the as- gociation will not be responsible for any loss or _damage that may occur. Buildings for live stock will be provided as far as possible. 12. Gambling, games of chance and the sale of intoxicating liquors are prohibited on the grounds. 13. Premiums will be awarded commencing at 10 o'clock Thursday, continuing until all awards are made. * . 14, Persons living at a distance are requested to make entries by mail at any time before the fair. Write the secretary for information. GENERAL RULES. 1. Hay and grain will be furnished on the - grounds at reasonable rates. 2. No animal or article on exhibition can be_ removed from the grounds until the close of the fair without the comsent of the secretary of the association. £ 3. Horses and other animals must be on the grounds from 9 a. m. to 4 p. m. for exhibition and examination. 4. Superintendents will, subject to the approval of the president, have charge of their respective departments, and afford awarding committees every facility for examination. 6. The marshal shall execute the orders of the president of the society, have charge of the police, nd see that order is maintained on the grounds. He will also see that the rules are not violated with impunity. 6. The stalls must be used by stock on exhibi- tion. Superintendents of departments will see that this rule is enforced. ! 7. Kindly report all errors to the secretary at | once for adjustment. 2 PAYMENTS OF PREMIUMS Premium checks will be mailed as soon as pos- sible, after close of fair. Orders not called for on or before the first day 5t January next after due, will be forfeited to the society. JUDGES. 1. The judges will report at the secretary’s of- fice at 10 o’clock Thursday, September 13, when all vacancies will be filled. 2. They are requested to take special notice of rule 7 above. TRy The fair man- 2. All entries must be made before €_o’clock, . 3. No person can act as judge in class in which he is an exhibitor. ) 4. Exhibits deemed unworthy shall not be awarded any premiums. 5. Breeding animals exhibited as such must be in breeding condition, and not barren. Pedigree must be unquestionable in all cases, and the neces- sary certificate or herd book should be produced. Symmetry, size, early maturity, and general char- acteristics of the several breeds of animals will be considered, and proper allowance made for age, . Teeding and other circumstances. 6. Animals of a herd must be of same,breed; that is, must be full bred or grades. They cannot compete together as full bred -and grades in one herd. Stock shall not be required to show register- ing if sire and dam are registered, or a direct line can be traced from registered stock. - X ‘7. Each award must be written in a plain, care- :° ful manner on a blank page opposite the entry; and. - * the books returned to the secretary as soon as the awards in each case are completed, and the award- ing committees must together report to the secre- tary when the task is finished. This is for the pur- pose of the correction of errors by the secretary, - and for such explanations as may be deemed just. 8. Great care must be exercised in entering the - award in a plain, legible manner in the proper place, and in preserving the books by awarding committees, as the premiums are paid on the auth- ority of these entries. 9. Animals or articles not on the premium list shall not be awarded premiums; but the judges may recommend for award such exhibits of superior merit as, in their judgment, may be entitled to recognition, in which case a ‘“‘commend” card shall- be attached to the exhibit and an appropriate engry made in the award book. ADMISSION T0 THE GROUNDS. - Tickets admitting heads of families, children under 14 years, during the whole fair (not includ- ing grandstand), $2.00. - Children under 10 years, with parents, free. Single admission, 25 cents. Single admission, child under 14 years, 10 cents. Autos once, 15 cents.
