The dances have proven to be of such a popular pastime and the mand to have them more fre- quently has led the management to adopt the twice a week plan. The plans are for the Harmony Trio to furnish the music. Rev. M. A. Mr. and Mrs. Ross Chesterman, who have been enjoying their honey- hoon trip at Bemidji and Duluth, are expected to reach home some time tomorrow. They are at Duluth at the present time.—Crookston Daily Times. Richard McAlpine returned Satur- day night from Minneapolis where he had been visiting at the home of his mother for the past week. The re- turn trip was made by auto as far as Park Rapids. Mr. and Mrs. H. C. Lisherness and family, Mr. and Mrs. B. W. Aldrich and family, Miss Anna McManus and Clifford Montague motored to Bagley and Leonard yesterday. They found the roads in excellent condition, but that vicinity did not receive any rain Saturday night. Personals and Newsy Notes Mr. and Mrs. C. J. Woodmansee of New Ulm, who have been the guests of Mrs. Woodmansee’'s sister, Mrs. R. C. Hayner, and family since July 3, will return to their home tomor- row morning. Mr. Woodmansee was in the theater business here two years ago and at that time operated two theaters, known as the Grand and Majestic. They are now in the same business at New Ulm and have been taking a vacation while their theater has been undergoing re- pairs. While here they also visited Mrs. Woodmansee’s parents, Dr. and Mrs. J. Olson, for the past several days, left this morn- ing for Minneapolis by auto where they will visit a few days. Mr. and Mrs. Newgard are on their honey- moon trip. Miss Leojean Boyack, who has been visiting at the A. B. Palmer home for the past several weeks, left this morning for Big Lake, Minn., where she will visit at the summer home of her uncle for a week, be- fore going to Iowa where she will visit until the first of September. When Miss Boyack returns to her home in Oklahoma City, Okla., she will enter St. Mary’s hospital where she will train for Red Cross work, and will be prepared to go to France by next spring. Ida Stone is expected to arrive home this afternoon on the Northern Pa- cific from St. Paul where she has been the guest of friends and rela- tives for two or three weeks. She will be accompanied by her aunt, Mrs. Charles Gould, who will be a guest at the Stone home for a few days. Mrs. Thayer C. Bailey of Be- midji, who went down with Miss Stone, is spending the week-end with her husband at Fort Snelling who is in the officers’ reserve training camp. The first of the week, Mrs. Bailey will return to River Falls, Wis., where she and Miss Stone have been visiting for a few days.” Mgs. Olive Fjelstad, Dr. O. H. Bakke and A. H. Fjelstad of Minne- apolis, who were the guests of Rev. and Mrs. Osmond Johnson and fam- ily Friday, returned to their home Saturday. Mrs. Fjelstad is Mrs. Johnson’s mother, Dr. Bakke is her brother-in-law and Mr. Fjelstad is her brother. They visited relatives in Le Sueur, Hutchinson, Mankato and other points. At Man- kato they were the guests of Mr. Schmitt’s nephews, Dr. A. F. Schmitt and Attorney John Schmitt. The great sleeper ‘shark {8 a most stupid, gluttonous species—as really are most of the sharks—and spends most of its time dozing on the surface of the sea. When aroused or hungry it attacks whales, porpoises or, in fact, anything it can find and bites pleces from its victims with its knifelike teeth.
