B. D. Hanscom officiating. Oscar Olson took the young couple to Bemidji in his Studebaker. Miss Gertrude Coy was bridesmaid and Carl J. Rygg the groom’s man. After the ceremony they motored to the home of J. L. Coy, where a sumptuous wedding supper was gerved to the assembled guests. Be- gides the Coy and Olson families, the following relatives, friends and neighbors were present and partiei- pated of the hospitalities of the oc- casion. The A. Skoglund, A. Coy, D. C. Huldal, ‘Later in the evening the bridal couple left for Bemidji in Dr. Coy’s Ford to take the train for Scotland and other South Dakota points, to spend their honeymoon with the bridegroom’s relatives. The bride has spent practically all her life in town of Liberty, her father, P. E. Olson, being one of the early settlers here. The bridegroom 1s a later arrival, having bought the Marchilden place in Section 36, where he has a house in the process of building and where they intend to make their future home. Both are highly respected young people and have the best wishes of the entire community for a long, happy and was well attended and a success in falls on the Fourth of July, the club decided to celebrate the day with a regular old time farmers’ _picnic. The place selected is the Spooner farm on Deer Lake, Wilbur W. Smith, manager. . A program will be arranged for, a stand put up where refreshments will be sold and the usual club din- ner will be served. All are welcome whether mem- bers or not, and all who are in posi- tion to do so, are asked to 'bring along a little something for the com- munity dinner. Sargent, a rep- resentative of the Western Electric Telephone company, was present and the installation of telephones was paturally the chiet topic of discus- sion, Plans were made, also, for the annual picnic to be held July 4. Bert Fuller is at home this week recovering from injuries received while at work in the lumber camp at Whitefish Lake. A cable broke and struck him on the head and back. He was taken to the hospital but came home in a few days. He will return to the camp next week. Carol Knox attended the com- mencement exercises in Bemidji June 1. Mr. and Mrs. William Betts and children and Miss Marjorie Knox motored from Kelliher 'and spent Sunday at the home of Mrs. Bett's parents, Mr. and Mrs. M. W. Kpox. Miss Knox, who taught at Kelliher this year, will spend her vacation at home. The Literary society will meet Nell Knox came home June 2 to spend a month before taking up stud- ies in St. Paul this summer. Mr. and Mrs. N."L. Knox drove to the Lake Julia sanatorium Sun- day. Paulson, a cousin of Mrs. Nels Otterstad of Turtle River, who has been a guest at the Otterstad home for some time, has returned to his .ome in Northwood, N. D. He made the trip by automobile, a dis- tance of 200 miles. Cerl, Martin and Ellg Otterstad made a trip with their new Ford car from here to Kelliher and then to Red Lake and returned the same day; a distance of more than 100 miles. They report the road to be very good, and enjoyed the trip very much. - A very welcome rain ‘came here last night and will help the crop a whole lot. Mrs. Peter Becker was there at the time of his death. They all have our sym- pathy. Jens Nelson was a Bemidji visitor Friday. Lester Peterson was a business caller at the William ‘Maher home Wednesday. Mrs. G. Swedberg visited Mrs. J. Nelson Wednesday. Lester, Elma and Mamie Peterson were Bemidji visitors Friday. A surprise party was given in honor of Miss Grace Durand, whose marriage to Clyde Saddler will take place soon. A very large crowd at- tended the party. Miss Durand:was given $16 for which she is to pur- chase a silver set. Miss Durand will leave June 18 for Canada where Mr. Saddler is employed. They intend to make their future home there. Their many friends wish them much happiness. A baseball game was played Sun- day between the Northern and Pu- posky teams at Puposky. It was a very ‘interesting game, the score be- ing 14 to 13 in favor of the North- ern team.
