M., as per adirurnment All members were present. The minutes of the Special meeting of April 24th, were read, and on motion duly seconded and carried, were ap- proved. . Everts, Engineer of County Ditch No. b, asking for authority to appoint an Essistant Engineer. It was moved by Ellis, seconded by Lennon, that the application be granted, and Engineer Everts be authorized to appoint an Assistant Engineer to assist in the survey, construction and super- jntending of County Ditch No. 5, said Assistant Engineer to receive a salary of $4.50 per day, and all expenses while in the field. Commissioner Hayes offered the fol- lowing preamble and resolutions, and moved their adoption: WHEREAS, in pursuance of and in full compliance with the provisions of Chapter 230, Generals Laws of Min- nesota, 1905, and _the several acts amendatory thereof and_ supplemental thereto, such steps have been duly and legaly taken that a public drainage ditch “with certain branches and later- als has been duly located and establish- ed wholly within the County of Bel- trami, inthe State of Minnesota, known as Judicial Ditch No. 40, and such pro- ceedings have been duly and legally taken -in the District Court of the 15th Judicial District of the State of Min- nesota, duly locating and establishing said ditch, and it has been definitely as- certained and determined in accordance with the provisions of law applicable thereto that the expense incurred and to be incurred in locating. establishing and constructing said ditch will be at least Forty-nine Thousand Dollars ($49,000), and WHEREAS, there is not sufficient money in the Treasury of said Beltrami County to defray the exnenses incurred and to be incurred in so locating, es- tablishing and constructing said Judic- ial Ditch; NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RE- SOLVED, by this Board, that it is neces- sary for such purpose to raise at this time the sum of Forty-nine Thousand Dollars ($49,000). The petition of Engebret Pederson et al asking for a re-survey of Sec. 31- 153-31 was presented, and it was moved, seconded and carried to set time of hearing for June 12th at 2:15 P. M. The petition of Joseph Oskar Olson et al asking for a re-survey of Sec. 12- 147-35 was presented, and it was moved, seconded and carried to set time of hearing for June 12th at 2:30 P. 1.
