TRAINING SCHOOL (Continued from Page 1.) as outlined for the normal schools. Credits. Credits will be offered the same as in the other summer schools of this year, which are to be held in the normal schools, university and farm schools. The bulletin on the subjects will be distributed at the opening of the school and will con- tain full information as to all mat- ters of credit. This bulletin is in preparation by the State Department for such distribution. Certificates. The general plan of the school is the same as for other summer schools. Credit courses will be of- fered to earn credits on teachers’ certificates and towards the profes- sional requirements. Enrollment. Enrollment will begin Monday, June 18, at 9 a. m. Teachers should be on hand the first day and get their assignments of work. Any and all persons desiring to teach are cor- dially invited, and even urged, to en- roll in this school. Come the very first day if possible. Expense. No fee or tuition will be charged. The state bears all expense of the instructors, thus making the school free to all. The city school will loan books that are on hand, free of cost, although it would be well to bripg books owned by the teachers attending. Room and board may be obtained on reasonable terms. Persons desir- ing such should make personal ap- plications if possible. If you have friends or acquaintances in Bemidji write them at once for accommoda- tions. County Superintendent of Schools W. B.-Stewart will be pleased to give information and assistance. INFLAMMATORY RHEUMATISM Clarence Montague of the Jewett garage is severely afflicted with an attack of inflammatory rheumatism, and last night suffered intensely. CONSIDERABLE GARDEN Hoople, N. D.,, May 16.—Nels Folsom, the “potato king of Hoople,” is demonstrating his patriotism in a most potent manner, although he has long_passed military age. Folsom is planting $9,250 to seed potatoes. The 275 acres which this seed will supply will mean a fortune in the fall with potatoes retailing at $3 a bushel here now. DO YOU LOOK OLD? Is your face drawn? color poor? temper short? You are only as old as you feel. If you want to look young, your body must be free from impurities and poisons. Constipation is the enemy of youth, good complex- ions and _good health. The bowels must be free and clean and the kidneys active if you want to feel young and look young. Hollister's Rocky Mountain Tea, a delicious drink brewed from herbs and leaves, relieves constipation and stimulates liver and kidneys, without grip- ing and without reaction. TAKE TONIGHT TOMORROW FEEL RIGHT THR CITY DRUG STORE THE UNIVERSAL CAR THE BEMIIJI DAILY PIONEER accompanying the Sociability run- ners to Park Rapids this morning. peadmg citizens of Park Rapids were in the reception committee, headed by L. H. Rice, president of the Min- nesota Jefferson Highway associa- tion, C. E. Ward, editor and publish- er of the Park Rapids Journal, was another prominent Park Rapids citi- zen commistee member. Besides the Bemidji and Park Rapids delegations were several vis- itors from surrounding cities, towns and villages, all coming in gaily flag bedecked cars. Over 100 Served. Dinner was served to over 100, the spacious dining room of Doug- las Lodge being prettily deeorated in the flags of the United States and Great Britain. The formal opening of the lodge has not yet taken place and Manager McMahon had not re- cruited his corps of waitresses for the season, but the breach was ad- mirably filled by the domestic sci- ence class of the Park Rapids high school and the young ladies proved themselves fully equal to the|" occasion, evidencing that they, too, are a valuable adjunct in boosting for their home city, and there were many compliments passed unheard by the fair embryo waitresses. Mrs. Byers, wife of Assistant Manager Byers, had charge of the serving of the excellent menu. Toasts to Allies. A unique feature of the dinner was mnear its close A when Gen- eral Manager Clarkson of the Jef- ferson Highway arose and proposed a toast to the British Empire. The diners arose and drank to. the toast with pure spring water. In returning the compliment, Pre- mier Norris arose and proposed a toast “To the president of the United States,” and again the dining room was filled with standing banqueters who drank to the sentiment. Dinner over, the concourse visited an hour or so informally and grad- ually left for their homes, Mr. Ly- can remaining with the tourists un- til a late hour. Clarkson Paises Road. In speaking of the trip thus far, Mr. Clarkson stated that the high- way between Bemidji and the State park was the best stretch they had Tomorrow T0 OWNERS OF FORD CARS The Ford Motor Company, of Detroit, appointed us authorized agents for Ford cars in this territory, to properly repre- sent Ford interests, to give service to Ford owners. FLORAL TRIBUTES ATTEST ESTEEM FOR MRS. CHILCOTE Mrs. Lydia Chilcote, who died Fri- day and was buried Monday in Greenwood cemetery, had resided in Bemidji for the past three years, making her home with her son, R. B. Chilcote, in the Fifth ward. She was a native of Indiana, the family home being at Rensselaer, and was the mother of five sons and one daughter. Her death was caused by diabetes, she being 69 years old at the time of her death. The high esteem in which she and her family was held by those who know them was attested by the nu- merous floral tributes from the B. of R. T, B. of L. F. & E, and the 0dd Fellows, and the family is ap- preciative of the many kindnesses shown on the part of these orders. Many of the Odd Fellows acted as pallbearers.
