Say, they could kill a German with- out a gun. Just give them a few stones or bricks. The fielders run a block and nab a fly with one hand just like some one handing them a ball. We are all planning on going to New York City week after mnext. Hovey and I went down to the na- tional guard armory and had a talk with the reilows. There is just a machine gun company; the infantry is out on guard duty. We have changed our position and expect to go into dry dock most any time now. They sent a work party over to the interned ships one day from the Kansas. Instead of it being a work party it was a pillaging party of pir- ates. They took everything that looked good. ” Tonight I have liberty but decided to stay on ship because the bunch of us are ‘“broke.”” We are getting along all right.
