REX THEATER The following is a synopsis of the story of the production, ‘““The Darl- ing of Paris,” having for its foun- dation Victor Hugo’s beautiful story, “The Hunchback of Notre Dame.” The scenes are located in Paris. The photoplay is based upon one of the greatest romances of French litera- ture. A Gypsy girl, with her mother, arrives in the French capital. The girl is young and beautiful. The Apaches, best known as the leaders of the underworld, know the girl’s value for financial purposes, if they can possess her. They kidnap her from her mother. She is taken to the slums of Paris. There she is taught the fundamental rules of how t obecome a criminal. She rebels at this, because she is an innocent and honest girl. There is no escape from the wiles of this lawless band. She is given expert instructions upon the art of picking pockets. She is grow- ing into beautiful womanhood. Later her mother rescues her. At the Rex Tuesday and Wednesday.
