MOOSE LODGE INSTALLS® LADIES’ CALL UNEXPECTED Installing of new officérs, ballot- ing on several candidates and action on several petitioners for member- ship furnished a busy session for the Moose lodge last evening, and to add to the interest of the evening the ladie sof the membership made an unexpected call, each laden with something toward making up a splendid supper menu. i Since its reorganization, the lodge has rapidly forged ahead until now it is nearing the hundred mark on its roster. HILL INCOME TAX St. Paul, Minn., April 20.—That the estate of James J. Hill, to be dis- posed of through the Ramsey county probate court, will total more than $50,000,000, was the report from au- thoritative sources at the state cap- itol, and it was not denied by E. C. Lindley, general counsel for the Great Northern. It is estimated that a $1,500,000 inheritance tax will be paid. Knopp was seriously wounded about the face and shoulders. — e BAD HABITS OF POSTURE. They Lead to Deformity and Chronic Disease if Not Corrected. The significance of the postures habi- tually assumed by individuals is the gubject of serious consideration by physicians at present. Exhaustive in- vestigations seem to indicate pretty conclusively that bad postures, such as stooping shoulders, contracted chests or protruded abdowens, are not merely the result of careless habits in the individual, but are due to some slight physical deformity which should be corrected. Generally speaking, persons who have bad posture habits are not very robust. Every one has observed that persons who are fatigued drop into bad pos- tures temporarily, and there are many examples of unusually robust persons with whom bad posture is chronic. Nevertheless, tendeney to bad posture undoubtedly adds to the trend toward wealkness and chronle disease, partic- ularly in individuals who are not nat- urally rugged. The robust child or the adult who takes an adequate amount of recrea- tion from work does not usually fall into bad habits in sitting or standing: in fact, he is able to combat the condi- tion of study and work which make for bad, posture.
