NATAL DAY CELEBRATED Lillian Brandt, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. P. Brandt, entertained nine little friends this afternoon, the occasion being her sixth birthday. The guests included Alfhild Johnson, Vera Opsahl, Orpha Dahl of Trail, Geneva Neumann, Fern Garlock, Florence Swinson, Dorothy and Vir- ginia Rhea and Gladys Olson. Games were played after which refresh- ments were served. A birthday cake with the required number of candles 1 formed a charming centerpiece. BIRTHDAY SURPRISE e Schussman. was pleas- antly sur’iscd by a number of her friends last evening, it being her fifteenth birth anniversary. Miss ‘Alva Dechaineau and Miss Laura Barret chaperoned them to the Elko theater, after which they reiurned to the Schussman home where a dainty lunch was served. Carna- tions furnished the decorations for the dining room. ELECTION OF OFFICERS The annual election of officers of the Presbyterian Ladies’ Aid society will be held in the basement of the church Thursday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock. Every member and all in- terested in the society are urged to be present. No lunch will be served during the afternoon, but a picnic supper will be served, commencing at 6:30 o’'clock: BASKET SOCIAL Members of the Swedish Lutheran church will give a basket social in the church basement, Friday evening, Mareh 30. Mrs. Harley Morrison and daugh- ter, Charlotte, of Carleton, Minn., ar- rived in Bemidji yesterday and will visit at the home of Mrs. Morrison’s sister, Mrs. Paul Winklesky, and fam- ily for a week. Mr. Morrison will join his wife tomorrow, having been at Crookston where he inspected an erlocking plant. Q- Miss Dora Hazen, bookkeeper for the O’Leary-Bowser company store, is expected to return tomorrow from a short vacation spent at Park Rap- ids where she has been the guest of her sister, Mrs. Tom Knott, and at Eagle Bend where she visited her twin sister, Mrs. Andrew Abbott.
