JAPANESE WRITER IS SKEPTICAL OVER ENTENTE . Washington, Feb. 16.—There is growing skepticism in Japan over the ability of the Entente Allies to crush Germany. H. K. Asada, editor of the Tayo (The Sun), a magazine repre- sentative of Japan’s intellectual com- munity, declares his belief that the European war will be continued un- til all the belligerents fall helpless together.” Here are several excerpts from his article: “It is impossible to deprive any state which is provided with any real power of its military equipment. Independence and self-defense are solemn rights which God has bestow- ed upon all living things in the uni- verse. To deprive a nation of these rights amounts almost to robbing them of their state. “In our opinion nothing short of the Allies’ determination to first dis- band their own troops and destroy their own arms and warships would be effective in destroying Prussian militarism. Invasion or conquest of Germany is an illusion impossible to realize. “Superiority of troops is essential to the conquest of any state, and yet, past as well as present facts show that the arms of the Allies are by no means superior to those of the enemy, though they may not be inferior to them.” you should trade at our store--- 1st—We buy the best merchandise obtainable on the market and sell it at the lowest possible price. 2nd—We guarantee and stand back of everything we sell. “Goods sold that are not satistactory ;we are always willing to make right. z 3rd—We do not believe in sales changing prices.
