She used to clean the lamps and boil the buirners and trim the wicks, and they had to be just so, because mother was particular. IN THOSE DAYS —oils tested a hlgher per cent, or rather there were fewer oils which tested so.low a per cent as we have today. 'The idea of WHITE ROSE KEROSENE coming into the field is to give the public a strictly high grade oil. An oil that will throw a pure, white light from a lamp and burn a deep, blue flame in an oil stove. WHITE ROSE KEROSENE —will do just this. We can prove it if you will let us. It’s up to you now. We guarantee that if you do what mother used to do, that WHITE ROSE KEROSENE will burn brighter 3 and throw a stronger heat than other oils. UL T T T JOIN THE ASSOCIATION. Say, Mr. Man, whenever you are approached by a tgir young daugh- ter of Bemidji, who might be at- tired in a red coat, toque and in fact an honest-to-goodness outing cos- tume, and when you are greeted by a smile, just commence to dig for a dollar, hand it over and look pleas- ant for the fair one id a booster for the Carnival association of Bemidji and her mission is to secure mem- bers for the association. And if you are not a member you are going to have about as good a time this win- ter as a one-legged man at a dance. Everybody is going to be a “jiner” for the Carnival association for the promotion of outdoor winter sports this winter. There’s going to be skating, tobogganing, skiing, curl- ing, hockey and all the trimmings necessary to do it properly. The as- sociation is for the entertainment of all Bemidji this winter. Other cities are doing the same and Be- midji can do anything any other city _____ can and then some. Isn’t that right? The cost for membership is only one dollar a year and that will make a good start to provide Bemidji with | the means of having a good time this winter, for there will be many to join the assoclation and by so doing the e cost per meihber is greatly lessened. Come on, be a “live one.” R Fr When yofi make up your list of “what to eat” for the . Holidays, be sure and include some of the following items, and be assured of a saving on your entire bill.
