The members of the cooking class have finished their caps and aprons. Walter Johnson has not been to school for some days. John Brooks drove the team on Route 2 during the past week, his father being in Bemidji. The roads have besn very bad dur- ing the past two weeks, making it hard for the drivers to follow their schedule. The Ladies’ Aid met at Trieste's last Friday. They have arranged to have a sale on Thanksgiving day at| the school house. At this time they will auction off a quilt ‘on which tick- ets have been sold. The Saum high school will give & basket supper on Dec. 9. A short program will be given. The manual training department has a new equipment of tools. The benches have been finished and the shop put in good condition. This week the boys are tinishing up and polishing the wood work completed so far. The domestic science department has received the new range and new sets of dishes. The walls of the room are being kalwomined and it is now a very ple nt place. The teachers of the Kelliher school paid Saum a pleasant visit on Wed- nesday afternoon. Mr. Matson brought them in his touring car, the Kelliher school being closed for the afternoon. The afternoon was spent by the visitors in the different classes of the school. We hope Mr. Thomp- 3 son and his pleasant faculty will come again. Carl and Emma Bjorklund and Ella Harrigan are the new pupils fn the 7th grade for the week. Last Wednesday afternoon was a half holiday for the pupils. The teachers all went by automobile to Saum where they visited school. The Saum teachers will visit the Kellfher school in return soon. John Bjorklund is the new pupil in the first grade, and Fritz, his brother, enrolled in the second grade this week.
