No, no; they are not dippy. Just paying election bets. A kind heart saddled the loss of many an empty pocketbook. Some men are so dense they can- not realize their own density. Everybody wants the war to end and nobody knows how to end it. The town knocker never troubles his head over the eight-hour law. Of course you were a good prophet. We all are after the result is known. That’s right, blame the other fel- low. He's probably doing the same to you. Perk up and stay perked. We'll have another presidential election in four years. I Now that the elecllon is over the war can sneak back onto the front page again. Buy at home this Christmas. Just as good, just as cheap and makes you feel a whole lot better. The fellows who lost in the elec- tion will at least have the satisfac- tion of knowing that the dear people will not be cussing them for their failure to make good their promises. SCHOOL NURSE. The work of school nurses in Be- midji has proved to be of much value. Bemidji should make plans to have a school nurse the entire year. Bemidji can secure the nurse free. Dr. I. J. Murphy of the Minnesota Public Health association made the announcement today that communi- ties could receive nurses free. The visiting nurse will be sup- plied free to any community selling |4 Red Cross Christmas seals. A nurse will be furnished for each 6,000 seals sold. Bemidji should be able to earn the services of a nurse for several months. Berry, returned to this camp after an absence of nearly two weeks ,during which time he vis- ited his relatives in Brainerd. While gone he invested in a new 1917 Ford automobile. Jos. Oaks, one of the company's cruisers and compass men, is here and will remain for a few days. Tom Barry, a brother of our cook, who is cooking at the company's camp No. 4, was a visitor here Fri- day. Scaler Johnson made a short visit to his home near Northome last Sun- day. 8. L. Sellers is spending a few days at our camp while putting up a tele- phone line from old camp 2 to camp * koA Tom Bowles, one of our cookees, left Friday for St. Paul, and says that he may extend his trip to hio old home in Kentucky. Tom has been with us for over a year. A. B. Chevrier, who has been em- ployed as scaler at this camp for the past month and a half, has resigned his position and left for his home in Duluth. N. F. Waterman is scaling on steam skidder No. 3 in place of Mr. Chevrier. Steam Skidder No. 2 made the small bonus last week. M. E. Bhadshaw, who has been cookeelng for some time, has left, and intends to attend an automobile school this winter. William Shook, clerk at Camp No. 4, made a short call here Friday.
