Charles Nangle returned Satnrday from a trip to Detroit, Mich., where he accompanied his daughter Miss .. Claire, who went from there to Tor- qonto, where she will attend school lis winter. While in Detroit, Mr. Nangle visited the Ford automobile factory. Mr. Nangle says: “The factory covers fifty acres of ground and buildings will soon be added to cover fifty acres more. There are visitors going through the factory at all times and men are provided to show them through the buildings. A hospital for employes is built right on the grounds. The floors, which are of marble, are washed every hour and the windows are washed every day. The men who do this work are paid $5 a day, that being the lowest wtge paid anyone in the employ of Ford. In looking around the ounds I saw a car which was not a Ford and was informed that this " car belonged to Mr. Ford’s son. On the day an employe of the factory is married, he is given the privilege of buying a Ford automobile for $100.” Saturday evening the members of the Linger Longer club pleasantly surprised Mrs. W.
