Ed. Bergh, president of the organization, presided. James Bowers and Axel Anderson were admitted as new members. Mail routes and new roads were discussed. The club will hold a picnic at the J. E. Swenson farm on Swenson lake, July 12. As side lines in the various departments, a glee club has been formed and a class of folk games started. In order to be prepared to teach manual training in rural schools, twenty are enlisted in the manual training department under the di- rection of A. D. Bailey. Under Miss Margaret Newton, who acted as music instructor at the Fargo schools last year, a glee club has been organized. The club, which is composed of female voices only, will make its initial appearance at the farmers’ picnic at the county fair grounds next Wednesday. Among other features on the program at the picnie will be exhibitions by classes in folk games. Miss Emma Hoglund is coaching this work. E The model school which will be started Monday next will be com- posed of students from the first to the fifth grades. Miss Olive Grabel of Minneapolis wi}l be the instruetor. Special classes in manual train- ing, in which thirty boys boys are al- ready enrolled, will be conducted this summer. These classes will take up advanced work. Sixth grade classes are in session from eight to 10 o’clock and seventh and eighth grade classes from 10 to 12 o’clock.
