Sentiment over the district is strongly in favor of returning a man to congress who has made good in years past and the majority do not want untried ma- terial representing this district in the national body. THE TALE OF TWO CITIES What St. Paul has, Minneapolis ‘wants and what Minneapolis has, St. Paul wants. This is plainly evident. Although only twelve miles apart St. Paul and Minneapolis now have separate weather bureaus. The orig- inal single station which Uncle Sam said' could efficiently handle the weather conditions in both cities was in St. Paul. People in Minneapolis constantly taunted the St. Paul sta- tion with sending weather reports destructive to their bazaars, fetes and civie' turnouts. Minneapolis people just wouldn’t accept the weather sent them from St. Paul so Uncle Sam gave in and established another sta- tion- in Minneapolis. BABY WEEK A Baby Week campaign will be in- stituted in this state March 4 to 11. Bemidjl should take pyt m gm; campaign. The services of some speaker who can present the various| phases of baby welfare to one or more gatherings, should be secured and meetings held. An investigation and report should be made upon the con- ditions of the local milk supply, birth. registration and infant mortality of| the community. The Minnesota.Pub- lic Health association offers speakers during Baby Week. Why not take advantage of its offer? DRY SENTIMENT INCREASING Dry sentiment is increasing not alone in the state of Minnesota but in many other states. In Michigan three thousand three hundred and twenty-six saloons will be forced out of business if a state-wide prohibition amendment is passed in November. Of these about forty per cent are lo- cated in Detroit. Already nearly 42 per cent of the entire population of the state is in dry territory through the operat.on of the county local op- tion law. FRANK B. KELLOGG Many country editors of the state of Minnesota have called upon Frank B. Kellogg to become a candidate for United States senator and have pledged to him their support. The state editors gave the state and na- tion Senator Cushman K. Davis and we believe that they will give the state and nation a Senator Frank B. Kellogg.
