The commission should be a body of strong men who will give their entire time to an or- derly and scientific investigation, that should fully and fairly bring out all the facts relating to the tariff so that congress will be able to act with full knowledge of the subject. The establishment of a tariff commission will stop lobbying and log-rolling; it will bring out facts; it will establish confidence; it will stabilize business. The names of Olson’s, Nelson’s, Schmidt’s etc., were seldom heard. The Lynch’s, Lawler’s, O’Brien's and Conroy’s were not able to agree at the convention which ended in a “sort of Irish brawl” over which one controlled the party. - REGISTER TODAY.
