. $300,000 SUIT FILED IN SIOUX FALLS COURT Sioux Falls, S. D., Oct. 1.—The Nebraska newspaper union, with headquarters at Omaha, Neb., yes- terday instituted in the TUnited States court of this city, suit by which it seeks to recover damages in the sum of $300,000 from the West- ern Newspaper Union of Maine, which has a branch in Sioux Falls, upon which papers in the suit were served. The plaintiff company al- leges that the defendant company has violated the Sherman anti-trust act, and that because of this it has virtually destroyed the business of the plaintiff. Both companies were organized for the purpose of furnish- ing ready prints and plate matter to newspapers. DEATH IS EIGHTEENTH IN FARMER’S FAMILY Coleman, Wis., Oct. 1.—The long series of calamities in the family of John Ermies, a farmer near here, was continued today with the death of Emily, his 18-year-old daughter, died of lockjaw from a pitchfork wound. - In \twenty‘ yeéars Ermis has lost by death two wives and sixteen children, seven of the deaths being those of accidents.
