B. Jones are very busy these: days: They have over a hundred tons of hay to put up. Chris Rogers of Shotley is haying on Albert Smith’'s place. The Smith place will have over 100 tons of hay this year, most of which will be put up this season, as hay along the Tamarack river is about ruined by high water. # The lake does not seem to be fall- ing any, although very little water is going into it now. This is caused in part by the old steambeats in the river at the outlet which take up about half of the channel. Is there no means of forcing the owners to take them out? It don’t seem as if it were possible, as they have ob- structed every river in the country with “dead heads” until it is not safe for a boat to enter them and for years literally tied up the Tam- arack and Blackduck rivers.
