Members of Beltrami county Farm- erg’ clubs are planning to make use of the state fair this fall for a series of conferences at which the prinei- pal subjects of discussion will be the plan for a state federation of farm- ers’ clubs. At the Farmers’ and Home-Makers’ fot Short Course, which was held at the Minnesota College of Agriculture last January, the question of organizing such a federation was taken up. ‘While sentiment seemed to favor such a union, it was decided wiser to post- pone action until short course week next January, leaving the matter to be investigated by a committee in the meantime. This committee met a few days ago and decided upon a series of conferences at the state fair to be held every afternoon, except i Saturday, at 4:00 o’clock. B The subject for Monday will be “Farmers’ Clubs and What They Have Done;” Tuesday, “County Fed- eration of Farmers’ Clubs and County Farm Bureaus;” Wednesday, “What State Federations are Doing” and “What a State Federation of Farm- ers’ Clubs Can Do For Minnesota;" Thursday, “Is a State Federation of Farmers’ Clubs Desirable?” Friday, “Farmers’ Club and What They Will Do Next Winter.” All of these discussions will be led by mémbers of farmers’ clubs. It is expected that through this confer- ence sentiment will be crystal- ized in the subject of federation and that by the same means members of farmers’ clubs in Beltrami county ‘and throughout the state will gather inspiration for the promotion of great work in their several com- munities.
