A. Warfield home on Lake Boulevard. The trip was made in the Norris automobile. Glenn S. Hunt, teller in the Se- curity State bank, and bride will re- turn to Bemidji tomorrow from Itasca State Park, where they have spent their honeymoon. Mrs. Hunt was formerly Miss Margaret Willson of Kasota, Minn. Mr. and Mrs. Hunt will make their home on Irvine av- enue and Ninth street. Gemmell, of Brainerd, gen- eral manager of the Minnesota & In- ternational railroad, who makes fre- quent business trips to Bemidji, has just been notified that Governor Hammond has appointed him on his staff as aide-de-camp with the rank of colonel. Mr. Gemmell was a mem- ber of former Governor Eberhart’s staff. Mr. and Mrs. C. M. Bacon and Mr. and Mrs. George Kreatz returned last night from Itasca state park, where they have spent several days fishing. They report the lake is fairly teem- ing with fish, The trip was made in the Bacon car and the road was in poor condition coming back to Be- midji on account of the heavy rain of yesterday. Because of the interest which 1s being taken in tennis this year the Bemidji Tennis club has found it necessary to add another court. Each member of the club has been assessed a small amount for the purpose of meeting the expense of the new court. Work on its construction will begin immediately. Ream, who has spent the winter at Shore Acres, left for Be- midji on Monday where he expects to work during the summer. Miss Maude Fuller returned from Island Lake on Friday where she was the guest of Mina Stout. The Pleasant Vadley Social and Lit- erary club met at the home of M. W. Knox last Friday. The Pleasant Valley Union Sunday school held ‘its annual “Children’s Day” on June 13 at the home of M. L. Fuller. A very interesting pro- gram was rendered which was en- joyed by all, after which E. H. Page, Sunday school missionary, gave a very appropriate talk. Don’t forget the Wide Awake Farmers’ picnic on July 7 at Boston Lake. Misses Anna and Frances Bowers will en- roll next Monday. John Emberland and family of St. Paul, who have been guests of Mr. Emberland’s relatives for the past two weeks, left Tuesday morning for Cass Lake where they will spend the summer months at their cottage.
