Popp, an employe at the Great Northern depot, has just returned from Montana where he has spent the past three weeks visiting old Bemidji friends, who took up claims there two years ago, in what is called Glentana“ Valley, situated 60 miles from Glasgow, Montana. Among the many friends he visited were the Chamberlains, who are known to many Bemidji people, Mr. Chambe:- lain having been agent here for the Great Northern railway for ten years. Other Bemidji friends he visited were Mr. Wells, a former cashier of the Great Northern rail- road company, Gib Henderson, at one time a Bemidji patrolman, Elmer and Fritz Chamberlain, F. S. Chamber- lain, a brother of E. B. Chamberlain, Sr. Mrs. Barnby and the Riedes, each have taken up a half section in Montana and are all doing welk On May 14 they had a four-inch rain- fall and the -outlook for a fine crop this fall is promising.
