Monday night the Brainerd council canvassed the city election vote and officially declared that no license had carried, 986 to 809. _For the first time in its forty-five or more years Brainerd is dry. Saloons did a big business the last day disposing of their stocks. Twenty-one saloons quit business Monday night. All li- censes expire July 1, so the city owes liquor men some $5,000, to be re- funded for the unused license period. Friday, April 23, Hand’s Harp Orchestra of Fergus Falls, will give a dance in the City hall. This is a first-class company of musicians. The orchestra consists of four pieces, with a combination of harp, violin, clarin- et, saxophone, trap drum, xylo- phones, bells and a full line of trap effects.
