Campbell has been in charge of the St. Cloud Presbyterian church for fifty years, and is one of the most prominent members of the Minnesota ministry. Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Jackson are the guests of Mr. Jackson’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Edward Jackson, of Ir- vine avenue, and will remain in the city for a month or two. They have been the guests, the past couple of weeks, of Mrs. Jackson’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. H. Logan, of Grand Rapids. In the statement of ownership, management and circulation of the Faribault Daily Republican, it is no- ticed that Clarence 'A. Shannon is named as the managing editor. Shannon is the son of Mr. and Mrs. C. N. Shannon of this city and at one time was connected with the editorial department of the Daily Pio- neer. An_ important addition has been made to the courses offered at the Teachers’ Training school, University Farm, St. Paul, June 14 to July 24. The training school is under the di- rection of the Department of Edu- cation of Minnesota and the Univer- sity of Minnesota, and the new course is specially designed for training teachers in high schools and will cover three general flelds: Or- ganization and management of train- ing departments, country life and nature study. The regular courses for the summer school include credit courses in subjects for first and sec- ond class certificates; special indus- trial work, including = carpentry, blacksmithing, sewing and cooking; special courses for consolidated school principals; a course for prin- cipals of graded schools; a study of elementary library methods espec- jally planned for rural teachers; work in music, drawing, school li- braries and primary methods; ad- vanced work for professional certifi- cates at the University of Minne- sota, and advanced courses in agri- culture and home economics at the College of Agriculture.
