L. Parish, district super- intendent, will preach in the Metho- dist church this evening at 8:30. The quarterly conference will be held immediately after the services. All are invited to attend. William Furlow of Rochester, Min- nesota, arrived in Bemidji this morn- ing from Kelliher from which place he has been looking over some land which he recently purchased. Mr. Furlow will spend several days her fishing. The children of the Swedish Luth- eran parochial school will have a picnic on the library grounds, Fri- day, June 26. Mrs. George Larson of Nymore re- turned home from Brainerd yester- day, where she accompanied her hus- band_who went there to attend the annual conference of the Free Luth- eran church. Rev. Larson will re- turn home today and his brother-in- law, Rev. Urhald of Blanchardville, Wisconsin, will accompany him, and will hold services in the Nymore church this evening at 8 o’clock. 0. J. Berglund, father of George C. Berglund of this city, died at his home in Lake City Saturday morn- ing, at the age of 83.- Death was due to old age. Mr. Berglund was in Bemidji last summer and was quite feeble at that time. George Berglund got down there Friday af- ternoon, having been informed that his father was not expected to live. Quebec, June 22.—Two bodies, the first recovered from the lost Bmpress of Ireland, arrived from Ri- mouski. They were recovered by divers. One was identifled as a Mrs. Mar- dall. She was about forty years oid. The second body was that of a man named Crismell of Lethbridge, Alta., about- fifty-eight vears of age. Both bodies were found lying on the hall of the Kmpress, caught fast between rallings. DIXON OPPOSES HARMONY Former Senator From Montana Opens Progressive Campaign.
