The board of directors of the Onion grower’s association held a meeting in the offices of Reynolds & Winters yesterday afternoon for the purpose of discussing vegetable seed, where to get it and what kinds to get. It was decided that all the members should get the seed through the associption in order to get uni- form seed and that the vegetables may grade the same this fall®and thus may be shipped in the same car and bring better market prices. OPENS WAR ON LOAN SHARKS New York District Attorney Caus Arrest of Ten. New York, Feb. 27.—To 'prosecute loan sharks and protect city employes whose need of ready money has forced them to pay exorbitant interest a special deputy assistant has been ap- pointed by the district attorney of New York county. This deputy, Walter S. Heilborn, it was announced, has been at work for several weeks and the proprietors of ten loan companies are under arrest. London, Feb. 27.—Sir John Tenniel, for many decades the leading British cartoonist, is ‘dead at the age of nine: ty-four.
