General Notes From Typhoid. ‘Washington, Dec. 6—Remarkable Pprogress in' military sanitation and im- provement in the health of the army is: recotded in the annual report of Surgeon General George' H. Torney. He says it seems more than marvel- ous that among the number of men jn the camps at Texas City and Galves- ton, and along the Mexican border, constantly exposed to infection, not a case of typhoid has occurred. That is attributed entirely to the compul- sory immunization of the army by the typhoid prophylactic. Surgeon General Torney says that ‘while no measure has yet been found to eradicate tuberculosis from - the army, as the result of improved sani- tation and care in enlistments, the rate of that disease is steadily di- minishing.
