Pulgging of keyholes was among some of last night’s pranks. A man who does housework is sel- dom good for anything else says a sympathizer. Cows in Belgium wear ear rings, says an exchange. We’'ve passed that stage in Minnesota. Here the women wear’em, Fergus Falls boasts of its Bison order and Crookston of its Moose. Watch for Bemidji’s Royal Order of Moose. They are headed this way. Canada is boasting of a hen that layed 283 eggs in one year. The chances are that the hen was im- ported from the United States. If the editor of the Walker Pilot “dares” come out for member of the house from his district, there’ll be nothing to it. We would be satis- field with a man of Mr. Dare’s cali- ber in this district. Bemidji celebrated a safe and sane Hallowe'en in spite of the fact that a strong husky neighbor gave a big strong high school boy a healthy spanking for taking part in an alledged distruction of an out building. Out of the twenty Iowa farmers who came here to buy land last week eighteen hought and the other two promised to come back and do likewise. This just goes to show that Northern Minnesota, especially Bel- trami county never disappoints. At Thief River Falls the Times and Press have enjoyed a lively time of it for the past month or two calling each other all kinds of cheer- ful names, but the public will be pleased to notice that in its last is- sue the Press was 'big enough to bury the hatchet by having not a word to say. ‘“There Is one state. officlal who, without any fuss or feathers, at- tends strictly to the duties of his office and wastes no time in schem- ing to climb highter on the political ladder. His name is Lyndon A. Smith, the efficient and gentlemanly attorney general of the state.”— Says the Princgton Union We venture to say that the Hon- orable Mr. Smith will climb without the assistance of a political ladder. The rising sun bids us awake And prayer to our Creator make, Benedicamus Domino! His hand hath kept us through the night And led us safely to the light, Benedicamus Domino! . Our tongues restrain we through the day That, blameless, they at eve may pray, Benedicamus Domino! Our thoughts contain, our senses guard. We serve the vineyard of the Lord, Benedicamus Domino!
