Menominee, Mich., Oct. 24.—The { entire faculty of the high school, twelve in number, led by Principal W. C. Geise, have resigned. ' Their | action is the result of Superiptendent John E. Davis' resignation when ' the school board overruled him in rein- stating Thurman Doyle, son of M. J. Doyle, president of the board, who ‘was suspended for ette at school. Chicago. 7 Chicago, Oct: 24.—Sixteen indict- ments were returned by a special grand jury in connection with an in- vestigation of alleged election frauds- herc in November, 1912. More than fitty indictments, some of them of prominent politicians, previously have been returned in the case. SULZER'S LAWYERS UNPAID Expect Legisiature to Compensate Them for Their Services. Albany, N. Y. Oct. 24.—Unless a special bill is intrbduced in the leg- islature for the‘payment__ol the fees of William ; Sulzer's counsel they probably will not receive a cent for their work. Nor will they take the initiative in having suc¢h a bill in- troduced, Judge D. Cady Herrick said. ! “We shall not ask the state to pay | us,” he said. Nor do we expect any | ray from Mr, Sulzer. He has not paid us anything and we shall not ask him for a cent. If the state feels; that it does not want us to be’in its| debt and any legislator voluntarily introduces a bill “granting us a fee we shall not oppose it.” The judge said he spoke not only for himself but for all of the former governor's counselors.
