Not So In Bemidji. “To what do you attribute the cur- ative powers of your Springs?” asked a visitor at a health resort. “Well,” answered the proprietor, thought- tully, “I guess the advertising I've done has had something to do with it.” Bemidji has the curative pow- ers, but has had little along these lines. advertising That Stump Meeting Friday. We Farmers as well as we city folk should keep in mind the Land Clear- ing meeting which is to be held in the City Hall at 2 o’clock Friday aft- ernoon. There will be something to listen to, because it will be strictly a farmers meeting for the farmer and city man, and what’s better still it will be a meeting where the farmer will do the talking. That’s the time we city folk learn something and far- mers too for that matter. You can bank on it,when a farmer talks he always has something to say. Don’t miss the opportunity to hear him Fri- day afternoon. There is a guarantee to every visitor that he’ll learn some- thing by going. Try it and see. Last Friday, F. A. Dare, editor of the Walker Pilot, was summoned to St. Paul by the serious illness of his father, A. A. Dare, of that place. He arrived just in time to be present when his father died. Death was due to “pneumonia, following pierc- ing of the stomach”, and the illness which preceded it was of only four days duration. The wife of the de- ceased, two sons and one daughter were with him in his last hours. The funeral was held Monday from the Episcopal church. Deceased has long resided in Min- nesota, and he was quite generally known. He lived in Elk River and Anoka for some time, but removed to St. Paul a few years ago to engage in business.—Cass County Pioneer.
